Cool Display Technology

We managed to entice Quentin Stafford-Fraser to Catalyst on Thursday night to talk about a variety of ideas around communicating with displays, including displays over ethernet and over USB2.

Interesting ideas, and I would certainly look forward to being able to plug more displays into my laptop via USB. Hopefully he will be able to get some open-source Linux drivers released for it as well.

All round an excellent evening, and I hope Quentin enjoys the rest of his time in New Zealand.

Cool Monitor

The cool Samsung monitor which can display video from VGA, DVI or USB is described at on the German Samsung site.

I also found a bunch of misinformed articles that state that it only has a USB port. It does actually also have the standard VGA and DVI sockets.
