Rainforest

When I see the word "rainforest" I tend to associate it with "tropical" in front of it, but that is very much not the case. In most parts of New Zealand when there is a forest, it is a rainforest.
In this case, in the far south of New Zealand - "The Catlins" this moss-encrusted bush is the way that it is simply because nobody does anything to make it otherwise, and in this climate if you leave it like that for more than a year or two this is what you will end up with.
