Dunlavin Courthouse

Dunlavin Courthouse

June 20, 2017
I had to drive down to Carlow yesterday but I decided to avoid the motorway on the way back in favour of driving through a bunch of smaller towns and I encountered Dunlavin quite at random. It seemed like quite a nice little town with this very dramatic courthouse (market house, library, art gallery...) in the middle of the road.

There's something else going on here too, because the fence of the little park/cemetery on the right is yarn-bombed, as are the four corner pillars of the market house itself, and the panels either side of the entrance. I think it's a great look, and it was very arresting when I turned into the main street!

I'll have to go back when I've more time to stop than just snap a photo, and perhaps I'll be able to sample the little café nearby.
