On the road to Yosemite
Back in 2011 I flew into SFO a few days early for a standards meeting, and after I got off the 12 hour flight I hired a car and drove to Sonora, figuring it would be a good place to get into Yosemite early the next morning.
So indeed early the next morning it was when I headed towards the park, which was actually a lot further from Sonora than seemed reasonable to me before my first coffee, but once I turned onto CA-120 the scenery got bigger and better, and here's a sample looking straight into the sun down one valley early in the trip.
In the end it was a fantastic couple of days in Yosemite and I recommend a visit to anyone. I was very lucky with the weather, for a mid-February visit it was all-day sun and though there was snow all around the temperatures were mild. I did come away with blisters, however!
