I was quite surprised to find out the information needed for an application for a visa for China

I was quite surprised to find out the information needed for an application for a visa for China.  Four pages of information including such gems as the names of all of my family? Really? Also the first time I have needed to apply for a visa since I went to Brazil in 2004.

And of course the obligatory passport photo...
