For a few seconds I had the kids fooled that they were seeing the solar eclipse on our little pinhole camera device, and then they twigged that it was actually the sun being increasingly bisected by the horizon.

I guess at least they now have a good observational proof that the pinhole camera was working, but we'll have to leave the eclipse viewing to people in Tasmania and elsewhere.
