Drogheda

At the mouth of the Boyne River, Drogheda is apparently one of the oldest walled towns in Ireland.  Not many signs of the walls left, though there's a fairly complete gatehouse which we found.  I love the clouds in this shot looking upstream from a very modern pedestrian bridge leading crossing the Boyne to a very modern looking shopping mall.

We weren't tempted to the mall, even if it did offer some kind of "Scotch Experience" I suspect it wasn't what I would be looking for in a "Scotch Experience" :-)

After an excellent lunch at the +Salthouse Restaurant we headed down to +Beaulieu House, Garden & Car Museum for a tour and a wander around the gardens, which Mum very much enjoyed.
