So, what sort of open source workflow does everyone use?

I've been a full-time Linux user since 1998 - even before I had a digital camera!  I guess my first poke at digital post-processing my photos was around 2004 using The Gimp, but the world got a lot better in 2005 when I discovered Hugin.

In 2008 I got my first DSLR (Nikon D80) and I started shooting Raw+JPG towards the end of that year, in the middle of a trip to South America.  My workflow for processing RAW back in those days was some set of ufraw + gimp + ... combined in a shell script.

In 2010 I got my current Nikon D700 and re-evaluated my processing workflow, settling on RawStudio which I continue to use for day to day processing.  Sometimes I do a single-image HDR doing the tonemapping in Luminance, and I've just discovered Macrofusion, which I can see myself using in the future for multi-image HDR.

Here's a photo I took of a local meetinghouse a few weeks back that I've tonemapped in Luminance, going for realism rather than hyper-realism, just to try and bring out the forground despite the back lighting.

Enjoy!
