Dunguaire Castle
Driving south yesterday, the first castle we encountered was Dunguaire Castle, which is a delightful tower on a promontory in the bay at Kinvarra. Unfortunately it was closed, but it looks to be in good order and tourists like ourselves were wandering all over around outside the walls.
Nearby (in the foreground of this shot) the water seemed to be welling up out of the ground and flowing a short few metres to the sea. Very peculiar to see a spring that close to the sea, but there was no watercourse we could see on the other side of the road that it would have been flowing from.
