Yesterday afternoon we had pretty much perfect weather for a walk around the newly opened Westwind Recreation Area araound the Makara wind farm. Stunning views, including this rather interesting viewpoint showing Mana Island superimposed over Kapiti Island.

These turbines must work pretty continuously, since it seemed to us like a nearly flat calm day but the turbines were all busy turning.
