Snow on Bull Island
I woke up this morning to a car covered in about 5cm of snow - that's a lot, for coastal Dublin, so I decided to go out and see what the wider countryside looked like. I'm really not used to driving in snow but the car's Swedish so it should be good, right?!
Actually it was very interesting to feel all of the traction control & ABS working, and since it's AWD (diesel-powered rear wheels and electric for the front) there's slightly less chance of getting stuck. In fact when we drove up to the Howth Summit it got quite steep on the last bit and I think probably it would have been more difficult without the AWD - we were the only vehicle up there, and there were no tracks from any others, which surprised me.
First we headed down the coast road though, and out onto Bull Island where I got this lovely shot looking back towards Clontarf. This is actually very close to where I took a photo when the family and I first visited Dublin together four years ago, but despite being January that was a lot warmer than it is right now.
