Mt Damper Falls
Somewhat off the beaten track, in the Taranaki Wilderness, but well worth the visit. At 74m (242ft) these are the tallest falls in the North Island of New Zealand. An easy walk of about 1km some distance down a side-road off a place called "The Forgotten Highway". Really not likely to be on your route!
It's hard to get an idea of the scale from this photograph because you can't easily get close to the base (or the top) and there is nothing you can easily gauge scale from as a result.
They were on the route for us on that day, since we were staying on that "forgotten" highway, and were doing a big loop that day out to the coast, back to New Plymouth and then returning through Stratford. A good day, though perhaps a bit long.
