Powerscourt Waterfall
It can be quite difficult to get a representative photo of a big waterfall: because of the inevitable curve you really need to be a long way away, and yet just for the drama you want to be right up close. I've gone for the "right up close" in this one (though still probably 10-20m away) looking straight up, with the sun shining on parts of it, just to make the exposure harder. Normally I even do it handheld, which is just ludicrous, but in this case I did have a tripod, perched on a rock looming over a very deep pool.
At 121m, Powerscourt waterfall is the second-tallest on the island of Ireland, with the tallest (150m) up in the northwest in Co. Leitrim.
