Boyne Valley Bridge
Went for a brief visit up to the Boyne Valley yesterday, to get out of the house for a bit. It's the last weekend of the summer break though, so the roads were super-busy with people returning to Dublin.
This one alongside the Boyne was not quite so busy, and I managed to find room to pull over and take a photo of the bridge where the M1 crosses the Boyne.
Lots of interesting things happened on the Boyne, including the largest deployment of forces anywhere in Britain or Ireland, when William III trounced James II at the Battle of the Boyne. Further upstream is also the prehistoric site of Newgrange (and other mounds), so the Boyne valley has basically been settled since forever.
