Just had lots of fun on the phone with my bank's helpdesk lamenting their unexplained (and inexplicable) password restrictions for something called +MasterCard 'Secure' Code of "must be 6 to 8 alphanumeric characters with at least 1 digit and 1 letter". Actually they didn't say alphanumeric: I had to discover that for myself.
Silly me! Why would anyone want to enter 14-character passwords with punctuation in them! Or secure "battery-horse-staple-correct" style passwords. I'm really surprised that Mastercard don't consider security in their websites.
The (very helpful) helpdesk person also made sure I didn't dare to accidentally let a $ or , into the field where I had to type my credit limit. Apparently their computers are too snooty to even consider handling this kind of 'unwashed' input.
