Almost an Island
You can see here how close to being an island the Howth Peninsula really is. Just that sliver of land at Sutton Cross tying it onto the rest of Ireland and disappearing into the distance.
This is from the bluff above the Howth Portal Tomb that I posted earlier in the week, and you can still see a few rhododendrons in the foreground. They're still nice, though they must have been really magnificent in early May.
