We went for a walk around Bull Island today.  Not completely around Bull Island, because large parts of the island seem to be accessible only to golfers, and while I do play golf on this occasion I was decidedly not golfing.  I even bought all my paraphenalia with me from New Zealand, just in case someone knows someone who wants to have a game one day...

From the bridge at the southern end back onto the Clontarf Rd I spotted this chap apparently digging for shellfish, and I wondered if all of those puddles are his previous digs, so perhaps he always comes out and digs in the gaps in between them.  I enjoyed the light on all the puddles in any case, even if I don't know what shellfish he would be finding there.

Or perhaps they're holes through to some kind of alternate reality, like the wood in "The Magician's Nephew".  I could have suggested to my son to check and report back, but for every second I have my camera in my hand framing a shot, he seems to move about 20m (much more than the 2m/s he normally walks at) so when I'm done it always seems I have to run the 200m dash to catch up!
