The disabled toilet in this lounge in Heathrow is signed with a person with two crutches. That's pretty unusual - I'm sure we all expect to see the 'wheelchair' sign, but disability is more than just people in wheelchairs.

I wonder how people in wheelchairs feel about this device becoming a universal symbol for disability? Are there other places where symbols other than the wheelchair are used to indicate disabled facilities?

On thinking further I guess there is also a standard symbol for a hearing-aid loop too, but it's much rarer, and there's also the fact that many elevators have Braille symbols, but somehow they seem less 'normal' than that wheelchair symbol for the disabled toilet.
