Back in 2010 (or so) I took a photo of a Bell Systems manhole cover in Portland. Covered in moss it looked kind of reminiscent of an english country garden - or so careless viewers suggested.
I showed it to a friend earlier this year and he said he'd been taking photos of manhole overs forever, and could I please take manhole cover photos wherever I went....
This is the result.
All photos are taken with smartphone - they get GPS locations easier that way. The original from Portland is unfortunately lost, along with the smartphone, down a 1400-year-old well. C'est la mort!
