A Grey Day
I missed my son's 15th birthday last Thursday, so on Sunday I spent most of the day with him, in town first walking around in the rain to the game shop so he could buy a game, and then walking around in the rain to the bookshop, so he could buy some books. Afterwards we went to Malahide and had lunch at a nice café.
I'd been dragging the camera around with me all day, but the rain was kind of interfering with my ability to get an interesting picture of anything so in the late afternoon I detoured through Howth on the way home to see if I could get a decent-ish picture of Asgard Bay. But of course the light was fading by then, and this sort of weather isn't energetic enough to be interesting.
I guess this is my reminder that Ireland doesn't always look like you want it to. It's regularly wet, it's often cold, in winter it's dark and there are times when all you should be doing, really, is to curl up somewhere warm with a good book.
So at least we have some more books now!
