Using +darktable with my Nexus 5x

A recent upgrade to the Open Camera app allows it to save the camera raw files in DNG format, so I've been trying it out and so far I'm really pleased with what Darktable can do with the output. In particular I can see highlights available to me now that were being obliterated by the default processing.

Here's a few examples (uninspiring photography) of relatively hard subjects: rain at night falling past a streetlight, tonight's colourful dinner, and a door around the corner from the office (heavily cropped).

While this is obviously not as good as what the D800 can do, it it's a big jump on what I can get out of the Nexus 5x with the default processing! The best part is that it's not just Darktable that is free software - Open Camera also is, and is available to be installed through f-droid too.
