Kilcock Locks

The lock-keeper's house in Kilcock looks more important than many, and perhaps it is.  Two very deep locks, and a largish area both above and below for the traffic that must once have been queued on the Royal Canal for the journey in each direction.

Nowadays the locks still look quite serviceable, though not much traffic in winter when we were there.  Nor was there any water polo going on above or below. The nets were there, but it would have been a bit cold, I think.
