Attingham Hall

Attingham Hall

August 20, 2016
We were welcomed to Attingham Hall at the visitor centre as "oh, you're the first visitors from overseas today", by a very helpful man who was able to point us at the nearest source of hot tea, and then after a delicious soup & a roll (and an eccles cake) at the cafe in the mansion we spent a through look around. Our timing was pretty much perfect, as it must have rained heavily while we were inside, but stopped just as we finished, with this scene greeting us as we left. After a quick look around the secondhand bookshop in the groom's rooms we went on to Shrewsbury, where we walked the walls and saw the outsides of many buildings and the insides of almost none, as it was too late in the day for more museums.
