I have always loved "The Rock" by Neil Dawson

I have always loved "The Rock" by Neil Dawson.  Everything by Neil Dawson, in fact - and there are a number around Wellington, although the Fern Ball in Civic Square is the most visible.  I remember when it was first installed on the (then) BNZ Centre on the Willis Street side, now sadly with infill shopping.

What a controversy it was: "That's not art!", of course.  Well yes, actually it most definitely is art - sculpture, in fact - and today as I look at it through my lens and I find it evokes the digitised contours I see around me in so many pieces of modern software, I think it seems even more relevant than then.
