I think one of the biggest reasons for the ongoing success of this kind of thing is the huge cost and intellectual property issues surrounding other personality tests that actually work.

It seems that all of these things "must be administered by a registered psychologist", supposedly because of the potential for harm, but in fact forgetting the potential for harm of having a useless test used instead.

Does anyone know if there are any Creative Commons (or other open license) personality tests that people could use instead of the Myers Briggs rubbish?
