It seems to me that +Google+'s sort algorithm for posts is getting way too complicated. Either that or the place is turning into a backwater. Or both.
When I come back to G+ an hour after I was last here I really don't want to see the same top post as I saw last time, just because it's by some guy with a million followers. There are posts further down the page which are both (a) newer, and (b) have newer comments. If there was a preference I think I'd just choose "order by posting time, kthxbai". I can see a small value in weighting the recency of comments, but the current (apparent) over-weighting by number of followers seems pretty worthless.
Or perhaps it's achieving it's goal of making me un-follow popular people.
