Here's a nice piece by Naomi Klein pointing out that some of the implications of climate change seem to be better understood by climate change deniers than the rest of us.
I guess we shouldn't be too surprised, since the majority of those deniers have been persuaded by corporate funded campaigns, surely motivated by corporate goals. It's probably inevitable that the short-term costs of responding to climate change are what scares them the most. Corporations don't have a great record of long-term thinking.
