Early Autumn on the Canal
I've been going for walks around Dublin every lunchtime, the weather has been lovely and mild, and here we are at the beginning of autumn now and some trees are starting to turn. It all seemed to change in the last week very suddenly, but this one tree has lost all of its leaves already.
I thought it looked particularly nice reflected in the canal. The Grand Canal is a very nice feature circling around central Dublin to the south. There's a similar canal to the north - the Royal Canal - but sadly it is not so well-loved in it's Dublin parts - it's accompanied by railway tracks and general industrial mess. Curiously, once these canals leave Dublin the situation is reversed, so the Royal Canal is quite interesting in it's upper reaches, and goes for a considerable distance, whereas the Grand Canal goes into a suburban industrial wasteland and withers.
Like this photo, my life is a bit topsy-turvy at present, hopefully due to settle down a bit in a couple more weeks, when my employment situation goes through another phase-change.... stay tuned!
This one was taken with my Nexus 5x, so not quite as zoomable as my normal photos, but cellphones are getting pretty impressive these days!
