St. Fin Barre's Cathedral, Cork City.
The Cathedral was designed by the renowned Victorian architect William Burges. The construction of the Cathedral began in 1863, however it stands on the site of the ancient monastery founded by St. Finbarr in the early seventh century.
We visited St. Fin Barre's Cathedral last night for the launch of the superb new publication 'Graves, Wells & Statues: Exploring the heritage and culture of pilgrimage in medieval and modern Cork by Dr. Louise Nugent (of Pilgrimage in Medieval Ireland) and Dr. Richard Scriven.
