Celtic Cross
This is a modern marble one, but it's relatively unusual to see one at this stage of weathering: a nice amount of lichen and wear, but still smooth surfaces showing. Not sure how long it's been there to be this age, as the actual plaque at the bottom was completely unreadable.
We'd been meaning to find the ruins of St. Marnock's church in Portmarnock for some time, but the road hereabouts has no parking. This time we determined to park some distance away and walk along the road until we found the entrance. After one false start we did so, and found a very small and very ruined church, with a fairly well-tended graveyard.
