The Nethercross
A 9th century cross carved from granite, and buried in a field to hide it from Cromwell's soldiers, uncovered 160 years later in the 1860's and replaced back in the original churchyard. That's quite a history!
We were off to do some shopping so I detoured to Finglas to take a photo, only to find the churchyard locked up. We walked around anyway, and as we were walking up to it a man walking down the street with his grand-daughter asked us if we'd like the key! What luck!
