One of the things that seems to work well in the Wellington Enlightenment community is that people post almost daily 'events' so I see the invitation in my stream and can say whether I will attend.
Mostly these are lunchtime farming events, but sometimes we'll be off to a particular part of town to 'green' it or such, or run an excursion to a normally inaccessible location.
